Intervals
What wears out, and roughly when
Indicative figures under normal duty. A shop welding eight hours a day consumes lenses far faster than one welding two hours a week — treat these as planning numbers and inspect in between.

Do not run a lens until it fails. A damaged protective lens is cheap; the optic behind it is not. Keep one spare on the shelf.
